I’ve returned year after year to the breathtaking landscapes of southeast Iceland, so having the opportunity to collaborate with Glacier Lagoon Hotel was something truly special. Photographing the hotel and its surroundings felt like a homecoming—one that challenged and inspired me in equal measure.

During my stay, I experienced it all: radiant sunshine, relentless winds, and heavy rain. Reindeer wandered just outside the hotel, and at night the northern lights danced across the sky. Each moment brought new energy to the shoot, shaping the visual story I wanted to tell.

Mornings began with a quick dip in the hot tubs, followed by the refreshing contrast of the sauna and the cold lake. Days were made for adventure—ice caves, glacier hikes, and endless wilderness where you might not see another soul for hours. Evenings at Gunna á Leiti, the hotel’s fantastic restaurant, were filled with great food, while nights ended by the fireplace, playing cards and sipping cocktails.
